Khamzat Chimaev backed to surpass Khabib Nurmagomedov’s legacy by former UFC star

Darren Till thinks that Khamzat Chimaev will leave a larger MMA foundation than Khabib Nurmagomedov.

'The Eagle' withdrew with a perfect 29-0 record after choking Justin Gaethje unconscious at UFC 254 in October 2020.

Khabib Nurmagomedov was only 32 years old at the time and many people believed that his decision to run away from the sport was premature – but he is still remembered as one of the greatest hunters in the history of UFC.

Darren respects the Russian phenomenon, although he believes that Khamzat Chimaev will surpass him in the coming years.

Darren to Khamzat Chimaev Backt to surpass Kabibib Nurmagomedov

Till and Chimaev train together before the Englishman was cut by the UFC in 2023.

Since then, Till has launched a boxing career and stopped training with the 14-0 MMA-Superster.

They remain very good friends, who often encourage each other via social media and in interviews.

Until recently, his opinion expressed that Chimaev will have a greater impact on MMA than Nurmagomedov.

“Khabib was very dominant,” he said during an interview with Genting Casino.

“But Khabib did not fought as long as he should have done, God lets the soul of His Father rest.

“Yes, Khamzat can certainly pass Khabib in terms of dominant grasp.”

Darren Till predicts Dricus du Plessis vs Khamzat Chimaev

Chimaev apparently yielded a middleweight title shot by typing Robert Whittaker on UFC 308 in October.

Vecht fans are impatiently waiting for a collision with 185 pounds of King Drus du Plessis to be officially announced.

After training with Chimaev and sharing the Octagon with Du Plessis, Till is better placed than most of predicting their coming fight, which he thinks will look like a complete mismatch.

“I think Chimaev will run over him,” until it has been added.

“I think he just overflows completely. That's what I think. I think he will win the title. “

'I just think he [DDP] Does everything so bad, it's good. I just think he is so good in doing everything so bad. He defies physics. He needs Isaac Newton to study him because it is not logical.

“But listen, he hit me reasonably and square. There was nothing to say about that. Give the man his props.

“I just think he is doing very badly, but it all comes together very well. That's what I think. “
