Khamzat Chimaev cautioned by UFC Hall of Famer after camp insider’s ‘secret weapon’ claims ahead of UFC 319

A UFC analyst believes that the improved cardio of Khamzat Chimaev may not be the recipe for success on UFC 319.

UFC Middenweight Competent Khamzat Chimaev will receive his long -awaited title shot later this month against Dricus du Plessis on UFC 319. Chimaev, who is unbeaten in his career, beat former UFC champions Kamaru Usman and Robert Whittaker on their way to UFC 319.

Chimaev's wild struggle makes him a matchup nightmare for many hunters, including du Persis. He is known for deserving many fast finishes in his career and is used in the first round with lightning -fast eruptions.

But Chimaev could possibly take a more long -winded approach in the Octagon if he is opposite Du Plessis on UFC 319. According to former UFC Bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw, Chimaev has made his cardio an important focus of his Vechtkamp.

Michael Bisping Wonders like Khamzat Chimaev's rumors Cardio -Upgrade could hinder performance

Chimaev works in California with Dillashaw's old conditioning guru, Sam Calavita, who played an important role in building the lifetime of the former champion. Dillashaw has labeled the Cardio improvement of Chimaev as a 'secret weapon' that he intends to use against Du Plessis.

A UFC analyst believes that if Chimaev uses a more measured approach against Du Plessis, this might come back to chase him.

During a recent segment on his YouTube channel, UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping weighed in the insight of Dillashaw in the Chimaev camp.

“I understand that Khamzat asked will be a very dangerous threat, but at the same time you can't be a marathon runner and a sprinter,” said Bisping about Chimaev.

“Khamzat Chimaev is a sprinter. While other people have the style longer to go longer. Look at some of the most explosive hunters on the Roster, they are great in the first round. Conor McGregor … had not the best gas tank for five rounds, but in the first round, Holy S -you were in many problems.

“So Khamzat Chimaev, I just think he has built a certain way. And if Dricus du Plessis can drag him in the later rounds, I still think that the Dricus is beneficial. And the fact that Khamzat is a favorite of 2 to 1, is crazy.”

One of the former rivals of Bisping, Luke Rockhold, wonders whether or not Chimaev can hold against the ruthless pressure of Du Plessis when the fight comes into the championship rounds. Rockhold trained during his UFC career with both Du Plessis and Chimaev.

If there has been one important question mark with regard to Chimaev's UFC career, this is its conditioning and cardiovascular endurance. Chimaev faded in the later rounds in victories over Gilbert Burns and Usman.

If Chimaev is successful at UFC 319, a former UFC heavy weight believes that Chimaev could increase two weight classes and challenge two more belts.

Brendan Schaub predicts that the winner of Chimaev/du Persis can challenge for three belts

Brendan Schaub raised eyebrows when he claimed that the winner of Chimaev vs. Du Plessis was able to fight as high as heavyweight after UFC 319. Chimaev and Du Plessis did not fight above the middleweight limits in their career, but Schaub believes that one of one of them could make the movement in the future.

Du Plessis teased a potential move to light heavyweight to fight the then champion Alex Pereira. But Du Plessis' plans were thwarted when Pereira lost to Magomed Ankalaev on UFC 313.

Pereira will fight against Ankalaev in their UFC 320 Rematch in October. If he is victorious, Du Plessis could possibly be able to revise his 205 pound plans and make the business for a super fight.

As far as Chimaev is concerned, he has the opportunity to change the landscape of the middleweight division with a victory over UFC 319. Just like Du Plessis, Chimaev was able to challenge several belts before he hangs the gloves.
