Since he made his debut and plays a trio of victories in the space of just three months, Chimaev has sworn everyone on his way to 'broken' on his way to UFC Gold, Fame, Wealth and History of History.
The last to be the victim of that proclamation was Dricus Du Plessis, who previously occupied the throne through two successful defenses. Du Plessis was decided by Chimaev in the main event of UFC 319 and lost every round of 'Borz' on the way to a one -sided decision.
Not much had predicted that Chimaev would get so little resistance from the South African. However, when it comes to his actual title profit, the challenger had many prominent financiers, including one of the greatest world stars in football.
Khamzat Chimaev connects with football legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic Na UFC 319
As one of the top names of the sport, Chimaev had contact and became friends with some remarkable figures in the world of sport and regular media. Perhaps the most prominent of them is football legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who in the past himself has presented himself as 'goat' of his sport.
Chimaev met Ibrahimovic for the first time when the Swedish star visited him during his training camp in the summer of 2023. The 43-year-old gave the UFC hunter an AC Milan sweater and marked one of the many huge teams in which the Malmö took place during his illustrious career on the field.
That meeting clearly forged a relationship, and Ibrahimovic was one of those who watched Chimaev -Break records on UFC 319 with his smothering display to get the prevention of Du Plessis in the main event.
Journalist Adam Zubayraev was part of the Chimaev entourage on UFC 319 in Chicago, and he placed an image on X of the newly crowned middleweight King who spoke with Ibrahimovic in Facetime in the aftermath of his title win.
“Borz in football and Borz in MMA,” Zubayraev wrote the post.

Just a few months after meeting Chimaev a few years ago, Ibrahimovic Cageside was the most difficult fight of the Cjetsjesjense star for demonstrable battle so far.
Chimaev defeated Kamaru Usman via majority decision on UFC 294 and survived a late rally from the former Welterweight champion to keep his undefeated record intact.
'Borz' thanked the ex-Juventus, Barcelona, Inter Milan and Manchester United player for attending the fight during his Octagon interview.
Shortly thereafter, Ibrahimovic Chimaev noticed a future UFC champion in a post on his Instagram account.
“The Wolf. Khamzat Chimaev. The next champion,” wrote Ibrahimovic.
