After his middleweight title profit at UFC 319, Khamzat Chimaev has made a stunning rise in the pound-for-pound ranks.
Last Saturday Khamzat Chimaev finally fought for a UFC title when he took on Dricus du Plessis for the middleweight title in the UFC 319 Main Event in Chicago.
Despite doubts about his cardio that went into the fight, Chimaev proved the doubters wrong by dominating Du Plessis for more than 20 minutes of the fight and becoming the new champion of 185 pounds.
Although he set up a completely dominant representation, 'Borz' received criticism of his performance and it became 'boring' by du plessis' head coach.

Chimaev makes a stunning rise in the pound-for-pound rankings in the last update
Now on 15-0, Chimaev has relatively unstoppable during his UFC official period, in which Gilbert Burns came closest to finishing him when they fought in 2022.
Just like Khabib Nurmagomedov, Chimaev only relies on his dominant wrestling to get him through fighting, but because of its pure dominance, it hardly makes him stop.
And the skills and dominance of the 31-year-old is now recognized on the list of pound-for-pound ranking for men, which was updated this Tuesday morning after the weekend's promotion.
Before Saturday, Chimaev was arranged in 14th place in the P4P ranking, behind the will of Arman Tsarukyan, Belal Muhammad, Tom Aspinall and others.
After the update, however, Chimaev has jumped no fewer than 10 places in the ranking, now arranged in 4th place, behind only Merab Dvalishvili, Islam Makhachev and Ilia Topuria.

And with the two who share mutual respect for each other, Jones has declared his interest in training with Chimaev prior to his potential comeback to the sport in 2026.
