KO artist hands Calvin Kattar fifth-straight loss at UFC Nashville, ends mean streak

Calvin Kattar cannot seem to catch a break in the UFC.

UFC Nashville took place on Saturday evening with a 12-field card with head by heavyweight knockout King Derrick Lewis and the 6'7 ″ Tallison Teixeira.

The Fight Night event is top-heavy, with former headliners who littered the main map of karate specialist Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson in the Co-Main event to boxer Calvin Kattar, who went the five-round distance with people like BMF champion Max Holloway.

Once a top 5 candidate in the UFC, the #14-ranged featherweight hunter had the worst losing skid of his career on Saturday.

Steve Garcia drops Calvin Kattar on his way to the fifth consecutive victory

A passing moment took place in the featherweight division.

Considered as one of the best boxers in the weight class, the hard -handy Kattar was beaten by the rising prospect Steve 'Mean Machine' Garcia at his own game.

Garcia had ended his last four fights by knockout, almost five with a knockdown with Kattar in round 3. Also known for his sustainability, Kattar survived the exchange and reached the last bell.

Garcia landed three times the amount of strikes that Kattar did and won a tight unanimous decision about the jury-it-fifth Straight loss of Kattar.

The victory broke Garcia's four-fighting streak.

Who lost Calvin Kattar?

At 37, Kattar is about to lose its Top-15 UFC ranking.

However, it is not as if Kattar has fought in the last few fights like Garcia like Garcia. Kattar even fought the majority of his career against top candidates and lost to the best.

Kattar lost a potential title shot when he was dominated by Max Holloway in 2021. Kattar bounced back with a victory over Giga Chikadze in 2022. This is his last victory.

Kattar's Five-Fight Losing Skid includes defeats for Josh Emmett, Arnold Allen, former champion Aljamain Sterling, Youssef Zalal and now Steve Garcia.
