Kompany looking forward to time off after Bayern’s Bundesliga win

Bayern Munich -Coach Vincent Kompany is looking forward to some free time after Bayern Munich had ended the Bundesliga title with two more games to play.

The 2-2 draw of Bayer Leverkusen with SC Freiburg in the weekend confirmed that Bayern had regained their league title after he had lost last season with the men of Xabi Alonso.

The Belgian, who won the title in his first season at the club, admitted that the constant expectations and requirements to be in charge of the German top club were difficult to submit.

“Sleep, really sleep,” said Kompany in a club interview when he was asked what he looked out for the most after the title win.

“You constantly have the pressure of the next game. You achieve something, but then you have to start building for the next performance.”

There were still low moments for the men of Kompany during the season, because they lost in the round-of-16 phase of the DFB-Pokal to Leverkusen at home.

They also fell in a quarter-final-reds of the Champions League against Inter Milan, which was exacerbated by the destination of the final in the Allianz Arean, Bayern's Home Stadium.

Kompany is looking forward to spending some time with his family in the low season and leaving those disappointments behind, what he admits is easier after winning the competition.

“Sometimes you have these moments with the family during the year, but then your head is somewhere else,” said Kompany.

“Now in the coming weeks I will leave something behind it. But you can only do that after winning.”

Bayern Face Borussia Monchengladbach at the weekend in their last game at home before he ends the season to Hoffenheim.

The men of Kompany have a month off before the start of the club World Cup in June.
