Kompany wants control, not entertainment, after Klassiker draw

Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany wanted to see more control of his team in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund.

The two rivals served an exciting classicer in Allianz Arena, where all four goals came in the second half.

After he was hit on the header of Maximilian Beier, Bayern hit back with Quickfire goals from Raphael Guerreiro and Serge Gnabry.

Still, Waldemar Anton was at the hand for Dortmund shortly thereafter, because the points were eventually shared.

The failure of Bayer Leverkusen to beat Union Berlin means Bayern Sit Six Points Clear at the top of the Bundesliga with five more games.

But Kompany was not impressed by how his team renounced the check after the opener of Dortmund.

“We have created opportunities to the first goal and the game was more or less positive for us,” said Kompany.

“After the first goal it became a cup match. I would buy a ticket to watch a game like this, but as a coach you want a little more control.

“But we wanted to be six points at Leverkusen at the end of the weekend, and we have that.”

Bayern finished with no fewer than 28 shots, with 11 of those on goal, although their 1.97 expected goals were only marginal better than Dortmund's 1.5.

Dortmund is now unbeaten in three Bundesliga matches and is six points back from the Champions League qualifying places.

Bvb picked up 13 points of their last seven Bundesliga games, while Bayern 14 collected.

“We achieved what we wanted: we wanted to be solid and defend well. In the first half that was okay, but I wasn't satisfied with football,” said Niko Kovac, who went against his former club.

“In the second half we came out well and scored to make it 1-0. Then we saw a good match from both teams, with opportunities here and there. We are satisfied and hope to build on this in the coming games.”

While Bayern is still going to Inter with a chance to continue to the semi-final of the Champions League, Dortmund's European Hoop is gloomy after last week's 4-0 loss against Barcelona.

“We have a tough game on Tuesday,” said Kovac. “We know the situation. We want to win that game.

“[In the Bundesliga] I hope to continue this run [with two wins and a draw from the last three matches]”He said.” We still have points to earn. “
