Ibrahima Konate went with Liverpool for the last 12 months of his deal and there his fear that he could make his contract before he came to Real Madrid with a free transfer
Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate is supported to join Real Madrid and take Antonio Rudiger's place in the middle. Konate, 26, gets stuck on a new deal at Anfield after he has rejected the first offer of Liverpool.
The Frenchman was reportedly not satisfied with the payment structure, with the contract heavily based performance goals at the meeting. The representatives of Konate have insisted on a higher basic wage and there are fear that he could choose to close his current deal and leave Liverpool on a free transfer in June 2026, who rejected a large move to Saudi Arabia this summer.
His uncertain future has led to speculation of a move to Madrid and Real are not strangers to sign players at the end of their contracts – especially from Liverpool. The Spanish giants convinced Alexander-Arnold to reject a new deal with his boys' club this year and have previously signed stars such as David Alaba, Kylian Mbappe and Rudiger on free transfers.
And it is more rudiger who can better see if Konate fits in with that list, according to his former youth coach at the French club Soochaux. Eric Hree believes that the 26-year-old is better than rudiger and would swing on the side of Xabi Alonso.
“I would say better than Rudiger, who is undoubtedly an athlete, but I think Ibrahima is technically stronger,” Hane told Marca. “I am sure he can succeed in Madrid and wherever he wants.
“I think it fits well with Xabi. He can play in a three-man defense, as he did [RB] Leipzig, and in a four -member defense. He is a child who has never caused problems.
“I remember that he came from Paris to stay in our home. And he was always there to help and make life easier. The other children followed him because of his charisma.”
Hree went on to say: “I would emphasize his charisma and his simplicity, making him a leader. He was very clear about it for a boy of his age. He wanted to succeed and worked tirelessly, even alone.
Does Liverpool have to come up with Konate in Ibrahima this summer? Say in the commentary part.
“He will listen and learn, and then he will settle in the group with his personality. I don't see him as [Raphael] Varane. He's more one [Marcel] Desailly type. He gives a lot of confidence and has a very good footwork. “
Arne Slot would be reluctant to lose king, although the Reds have registered their interest in Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi. The English International is also on the contract next summer, so that Liverpool may be able to hire the same tactics as real by signing Guehi without paying compensation.
