KSI rips into Tommy Fury as Darren Till confirms new opponent for ‘real fight’

KSI sent a message to his former boxing rival Tommy Fury after Darren Till was given a new enemy for his upcoming return.

Former UFC title challenger Darren Till will not face Tommy Fury in his professional boxing debut after Fury recently pulled out of the fight. Instead, he will face a Misfits Boxing champion upon his return to the ring.

Till, as announced earlier this week, will face Anthony 'Pretty Boy' Taylor in the MF & DAZN X Series 20 main event on January 18 in Manchester. He and Fury were set to star before Fury pulled out after several Till threats to break boxing rules when they meet in the ring.

Taylor holds the MF light heavyweight championship after victories over Kenny Ojuederie, Samuel Ericsson and Gabriel Silva, the son of UFC Hall of Famer Anderson Silva. The fight will take place as a cruiserweight bout with a catchweight limit, and Taylor's light heavyweight belt will not be on the line against Till.

Following Fury's withdrawal and Till's newly announced opponent, it didn't take long for KSI to roast his former opponent and tout the new matchup.

KSI reacts to Darren Till's new fight announcement following Tommy Fury's withdrawal

KSI weighed in on his Instagram Story about the new Till vs. Taylor match and threw shade at his former opponent.

“Fuck Tommy Fury, now we really have a fight,” KSI posted.

KSI recently opined that Fury pulled out of the Till fight because he was 'scared' of the former UFC star. Fury revealed he withdrew from the fight after several threats at Till's press conference to kick him into the boxing ring.

Fury hasn't competed since beating KSI by unanimous decision last year. The undefeated boxer has recorded victories over Jake Paul, Jordan Grant and Taylor during his fighting career.

KSI is not only one of the leaders of Misfits Boxing's growth, but also plans to return to the ring next year. A possible fight with Paul has been all the talk in recent months, despite Paul's business partner making a wild financial offer to make the fight happen.

Till makes his return to boxing in an exhibition debut against Mohammad Mutie in July, winning by TKO in the second round. While Till focuses on his upcoming boxing project, the British star also has a potential return to the UFC Octagon firmly on his radar.

Before retiring from the UFC last year, Till suffered losses in five of his last six fights, including defeats to Dricus du Plessis and Derek Brunson. He made the full-time move to middleweight after a knockout loss to Jorge Masvidal in March 2019.

The bad blood between KSI and Fury remains thick despite more than a full year removed from their boxing match. While a rematch is unlikely to happen anytime soon, tensions continue to rise between the two polarizing boxers.
