Kurt Angle says the UFC has made him three offers
Kurt Angle is open about his negotiations with the UFC and claimed that the company made him various offers to fight in their promotion.
Unfortunately he was not impressed by the first song on the table.
In an interview with Sportbible, Angle claimed: “Before I signed at WWE, the UFC approached me and offered $ 150,000 for 10 fights; that is only $ 15,000 per fight, and I did not sign that contract, it was not enough.
“That was pretty lucrative for the UFC at the time, but I decided to go with the WWE.
“By the time we reached 2000 and my career there really started, the UFC suddenly had a very large company and Dana White had taken control of it.
“I started to think:” Maybe I should go to UFC, but I have such a great career in the WWE ” – so I went on.”
A few years later, after Angle finished his first Stint in the WWE, White contacted him to try to have him draw on the dotted line. However, there was one big problem that stood in the way.
The Grappler said: “In 2006, when I left the WWE, Dana White called me and invited me to meet him in Las Vegas.
“I met him in a beautiful penthouse hotel room and offered me a contract. It was a seven -year -old deal, only with one fight. The rest of the time I would be in the first row of the Arena, waving the fans. It was offered a lot of money.
“Immediately after leaving the WWE, however, I signed at TNA. I asked Dana if I could do both, and he said,” Absolutely not – you are struggling or you fight. “
At the age of 40, Angle contacted White for a last conversation.
The wrestler explained: “Halfway through my TNA career, I thought to leave, so I called Dana again, but I was currently 40 years old. I still thought seriously about it. Dana offered me a six-fighter deal for a considerable amount for a considerable amount.
“He asked me to take a physical one, but I failed because of my neck. I couldn't do it, so I continued with TNA.
“Dana was very cool and respectful. He wanted me to participate, but it just couldn't happen. I look back and I am glad I didn't do it, because when I was 40, I was so beaten. I had had five broken necks, and my upper force was devilish. I could not bank 135 lb.
“I had struggled those huge monsters for many years, and I was not in the flourishing of my career. If I was in my prime, yes, I believe I could have won a UFC title.”
