The honeymoon of Kyle Walker in AC Milan is over and the frustrations of the Leen of the Man City got better from him during Sunday's 2-1 defeat in Napoli.
The 34-year-old hit the ground in Italy with three starts, four and a half hours of football and three unbeaten matches for AC Milan, in which he only admitted twice.
His versions – and the results of Milan – have since fallen. Walker was picked up against Verona during the break and was dropped on the bench for the next Serie A match, a 2-1 defeat by Lazio.
In his last game, against Napoli from Antonio Conte, he was again addicted (in the 79th minute) and received a rating of 4.5 by Semper Milan.
They wrote about his performance: 'The whole defense was bad, but he was certainly in default in the second goal, following [Alessandro] Buongiorno is complete – so play [Romelu] Lukaku Onside V despite the fact that Milan had a high line at the time. A big mistake for a player with his experience. He had a few decent runs ahead, but could not get the crosses well then. '
Milan was 2-0 in the break, thanks to strikes by Matteo Politano and Lukaku. While the players came out of the tunnel, Walker was caught on the camera and gave a connection to teammate Joao Felix.
Felix also came to Bugleen – from Chelsea – in January and scored on his debut, but the attacker has not found the back of the net in 10 performances since then.
And Walker suggested that the Portuguese exaggerate things when he said, “Pass the ball, we are not a messi.”
Felix only played 10 minutes of the second half before he was deducted by manager Sergio Concukicao.
Milan, seven-time European champions, are far from the pace in the Serie A, where they are ninth and a massive 20 points of League leaders and Inter.
They are confronted with their city rivals in the Coppa Italia semi-final first leg on Wednesday in what will be a chance for the Rossoneri, Walker and Felix to get their season back on track.
