The home base of a top football agent who helped the move from Kyle Walker to AC Milan was in the middle of a drug attack last night.
Michael Rankine, 40, joined the former skipper in Manchester City on his private jet last week while he flew out to draw for the Italian giants.
The former footballer was even photographed with the full-back of England while he was revealed to the fans who held up his new number 32 shirt.
But 48 hours after he returned to the UK, a police would have discovered more than 90 cannabis factories in his house with a potential street value of £ 75,000.
They also recovered equipment that was used to produce class B medicine.
A source said: “It was a huge shock for everyone after what a triumphant return from Italy should have been.”
They added: “Michael flew in his jet on Thursday with Kyle. His uncle Mark, who is Kyle's agent, was also fleeing.
“They got the deal over the line and were jubilant. Michael posed with Kyle for photos, returned this weekend to the VK and then on Monday his house was attacked by the police. “
Rankine, who played as a striker for Doncaster Rovers, Scunthorpe and Bournemouth during a 16-year career, works as a consultant for CAA Base in London.
It represents a large number of Premier League footballers such as Tottenham's son Heung-Min and James Maddison and manager Ange Postecoglu.
On her website, CAA Base said that Rankine came to the company at the end of 2018 after he withdrew from the game. It adds: “Located in Yorkshire, he helps to recruit, manage and guide young professional football players.”
His ex-Pro Uncle, Mark, who played for Wolves and Sheffield United, also works for the company.
He represents players such as Chelsea and England Ace Cole Palmer and Newcastle and former three Lions defender Kieran Trippier.
Rankine is also a cousin of the former Tottenham Hotspur and England star Danny Rose.
The police of South Yorkshire confirmed in a statement that officers carried out an order at an address in Doncaster.
The raid happened in a busy residential street in the full view of neighboring families.
The police added: “According to officers who enter the building, we discovered a cannabis setup.”
The sun contacted CAA for comment. Walker's loan agreement is tipped to lead to a full -time £ 4 million summer movement.
