It may not have been the first season that Kylian Mbappe had dreamed of in Real Madrid, ending with only the Intercontinental Cup and the European Supercup of the titles available for Los Blancos, but on an individual level he set up a number of impressive statistics. With the end of the majority of the most important domestic competitions in Europe, Mbappe was crowned the European Golden Boot for the 2024-25 season.
Mbappe ended the year with 31 goals in La Liga (in his 34 performances), despite a bad start, making him 62 points, inviolable for his closest competitors Viktor Gyokeres and Mohamed Salah. The sporty CP striker was one of only two players who defeated him in total and put 39 times in Portugal at the point, but he finished with 58.5 points on the basis of a lower coefficient (1.5 to 2 in La Liga).
The other was Estonse Alex Tamm, who scored 34 goals for Kalju in his native country and Olimpija in Slovenia, but with a coefficient of only 1 point per goal, a way was back in the running. Salah finished with 29 goals (58 points), Robert Lewandowski scored 27 times (54 points) and Harry Kane closed the top five with 26 goals for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga (52 points). Apparently Mbappe also ended like the Pichichi in Spain.
Mbappe was not only the player who scored the most goals in his debut season in Real Madrid, who surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo, but also only the third player who won the Golden Boot in Real Madrid. The Portuguese did it twice in his career, while Hugo Sanchez also won the prize. Despite an overwhelming start, Mbappe is in excellent form in 2025. He arrived within only two of his best season ever and ended with 42 goals in his 55 performances and also offered four assists.
The French attacker adapted well to be the most central striker in the second half of the season, and pulled wide from central defenders to get on the ball and make shots. But with a Real Madrid attack somewhat disconnected from midfield, the big challenge of Xabi Alonso is to find a way to get the best out of him and Vinicius Junior at the same time.
