Kylian Mbappe files lawsuit against PSG for attempted extorsion

Real Madrid-Superster Kylian Mbappe is always fast to embrace his affection for Paris Saint-Germain, his boys' club. But when it comes to those who lead the institution, the relationship continues to be loaded after a controversial exit of Parc des Princes.

Mbappe left PSG last summer on a free at the end of his contract and a five -year -old deal corresponded to Real Madrid as a lot of fanfare. However, this did not go well with PSG, and in particular with Qatar Sports Investment CEO and PSG CEO Nasser al-Khelaifi, and Mbappe claims that he was not paid for the months of April, May and June of 2024. Mbappe now has a long-term legal discussion with more than € 55 m in unforgiably lines.

Now Mbappe has returned to the courts. According to Diario AS, who bears the AFP report, this Tuesday the lawyers of Mbappe brought a lawsuit against a public person at PSG for attempted expansion and intimidation. The French attacker refers to his isolation of the rest of the team in the summer of 2023, as a method to put pressure on him to sign a new contract and to be allowed to return to action. Mbappe fights the case on the basis of the fact that his separation of action is illegal.

It is not an unusual practice for clubs to drop players who are not open to signing a new deal, or in some cases accept a transfer elsewhere. On the one hand, clubs protect their own interests, and if a player is not going to sign a new contract, they would claim that they might as well focus their resources on others with a future in the longer term at the club.

On the other hand, players must also have the choice and freedom to make decisions about their future, without being afraid of action by clubs that can have a negative influence on their career. Just like in any other profession, players must have a certain will to decide how they can continue in their professional capacity.
