Kylian Mbappé selected in FIFPro World XI

Despite a difficult campaign so far for Kylian Mbappé (25), he is still considered one of the best in the world. The Frenchman has once again cracked the FIFPRO World 11, a list selected exclusively by professional footballers.

More than 21,000 players around the world vote for the prestigious honour, with the former Paris Saint-Germain striker starting alongside four of his current Real Madrid teammates: Dani Carvajal (32), Jude Bellingham (21), Vinicius Junior (24). ) and Antonio Rüdiger (31)

Former Real Madrid central midfielder Toni Kroos is also on the list, having retired at the end of the 2023-2024 season. With six players, the reigning UEFA Champions League winners had selected the most players for the men's squad of the World XI.

Manchester City were next with four players in the starting line-up, including reigning Ballon d'Or winner Rodri (28), along with Ederson (31), Erling Haaland (24) and Kevin De Bruyne (33).

Liverpool were the only other team to have anyone in the men's XI, with Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk (33) as their player.

One of the most notable players not to make the men's top 11 was Lionel Messi (37), who made that list seventeen consecutive times. This was the first time since 2006 that he was not elected.

Rodri, Carvajal, Rüdiger and Ederson each made this selection for the first time. Bellingham received over 11,000 votes, which was the most among the top XI men.

Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez (32), who helped Argentina win the 2022 World Cup, was narrowly eliminated in his position by Ederson.

Mbappé was the only French international to start in both the men's and women's squads, with PSG women's goalkeeper Mary Earps (31) the only player on both lists currently playing at club level in France.
