Barcelona has dramatically seen their salary limit, after the sale of € 100 million from VIP chairs in the renovated Camp Nou was officially excluded from the calculations of La Liga. A statement from La Liga details that the last accounts of the Blaugrana do not include the sale that is partly committed to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.
In January, Barcelona gave more details about the rental agreement of 475 VIP seats for 30 years in the renovated Camp Nou for € 100 million. Investors Forta Advisors and New Era Visionary Group have already paid € 57 million of that amount to the Blaugrana in the operation, although La Liga was said to have been skeptical about the integrity of that deal.
Now La Liga has said that the deal will not be included in the salary limit calculations of Barcelona that would in theory enable them to keep Olmo and Victor registered, depending on the ruling in their case at the High Sports Committee (CSD). They note that in December the sale of € 100 million in their accounts was included by the Institute of Accountancy and Auditor of Accounts (ICAC). However, when submitting their accounts in La Liga at the end of March for further calculations of the salary limit, they were no longer mentioned as the Barcelona auditor.
Their third of the season, this time, Crowe was mentioned as their auditors, after Grant Thornton started as the Barcelona auditors. Crowe has not included the sale of € 100 million on Barcelona's accounts and as such, La Liga has now communicated the resulting reduction of their salary limit.
