La Liga rejected Real Madrid request to move fixture despite club agreement

Real Madrid will be itchy to take revenge on Arsenal after their defeat on Tuesday, but for that they take Alaves this weekend in their last La Liga armor. The competition in Mendizorroza takes place on Sunday at 3.15 pm, but if Los Blancos had got their way, it would have been put forward.

There is an eight -day gap between the two legs of Real Madrid's Champions League quarterfinals draw against Arsenal, and that is why La Liga has designated on Sunday as the day before their match against Alaves. But this was not what club bosses wanted, so they asked Alaves if they felt at ease with the competition that was moved to Saturday (12/04), according to Cadena Ser (via Diario AS).

Alaves told Real Madrid that they were happy that the luminaire had to be put forward, which promoted the defending champion to submit a request to La Liga. However, the competition was requested, justified that attitude by stating that Los Blancos was too late this issue.

And according to the report, La Liga Real Madrid's decision has feel uncomfortable. They see it far from ideal that they will have less time to prepare for their crucial second stage against Arsenal, in which they have to destroy a shortage of three goals.

It should be noted that Arsenal is in action on Saturday when they organize Brentford in their newest Premier League luminaire, and this is likely to feed further anger and frustration within Real Madrid, who has 24 hours less than their Champions League opponents. But it is a situation that Carlo Ancelotti and his side have to deal with, and they cannot afford to take the match against Alaves light, because slightly less than a victory could lose them more ground in the La Liga title race.
