Los Che, however, was the better side in the opening period, and they received their reward in the final phase, while Umar Sadiq bundled at home up close.

Rayo is now three points from seventh place as Valencia Edge closer to safety under Carlos Corberan.

Mallorca 0-0 Leganes

Mallorca currently occupies seventh place, for Rayo and Celta Vigo, but they couldn't find a way along a stubborn Leganes in Palma.

Leganes fight for their lives in the relegation zone and they took an important point on the road during their journey for the mainland.

The hosts had openings on either side of the breaks, but there was an end of the season feeling in the air, because substitutes Antonio Sanchez and Marc Domenech missed the late opportunities to win it for the home team.

Las Palmas 1-0 Atletico Madrid

In the last game on Saturday, Las Palmas took a dramatic winner of 93rd minutes to effectively put an end to the persistent title of Atletico Madrid.

Julian Alvarez and Alexander Sorloth were both refused in the first half, as Las Palmas held, but the expected reaction did not come from the Diego Simeone team.

And while the clock tapped, Javier Munoz gambled on the failure of Atletico Madrid to free up a long ball to poke a shock winner in Gran Canaria.
