One of the big problems Barcelona are currently facing is the registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor. As things stand, both players are only eligible to play until the end of 2024, with the club having to re-register them for the second half of the 2024-2025 season.
While solutions are being sought at Can Barca, the issue is also causing problems between La Liga and the Spanish Football Association. According to MD, the latter's position is that Olmo and Victor could play in the Spanish Super Cup in January without being re-registered as it is not the competition.
However, La Liga's stance is the opposite and they plan to block the duo from playing in Saudi Arabia if they have not been re-registered by Barcelona beforehand.
Barcelona will hope to avoid any friction in this case by simply securing new registrations for Olmo and Victor before they head to the Spanish Super Cup. However, acquiring the necessary funds will be much easier said than done.
