La Liga strugglers and their predictable failings in the relegation battle

La Liga has an exciting title race this season, and usually there is an entertaining European race to involve the neutral, but one area that is almost guaranteed every year is at the bottom. The relegation race is rarely cut and dried before the last matchday or two, and to go with nine games, four of the lower five are separated by only three points in the Liga rankings.

One side that is eagerly, which is the correct adjective for the Aimless team at the bottom, are really Valladolid. After coming back immediately after relegation under manager Paulo Pezzolano – who she got last season – was their only real investment last summer Raul Moro. To their honor, he has been a large radiant light for La Pucela, but with owner Ronaldo Nazario, Pezzolano checked at war with his own fans and doubts about the quality from the side of the side that returned to La Liga, it was not difficult to predict their struggles. Although, Pucelanos would have hoped in less dramatic way.

However, various sides at the bottom can be accused of similar. If not complacency, then a lack of urgency to tackle problems that were flagrant last season. Las Palmas are 19th, and while Diego Martinez received a reaction from them since the looting of Luis Carrion, the same problem that has pursued them last season has again been their rise.

While Oli McBurnie was brought in, he did not succeed in touching the back of the net, and although that is a surprising statistics, he cannot be not to be their problems after he had only made double digits in one of his last five seasons. If there is something, it is somewhat compensated by the surprising form of Fabio Silva, who has already hit a career the best eight goals.

Above them are Leganes, who have tried to tackle the same issue with the Sebastien Haller loan addition. With one of the lowest budgets in the division, the surprise Segunda champions were predicted last year, and performed on expectations under Borja Jimenez – especially with the Dutch forward termination of his loan period early.

Then there is Alaves. Level on points with LEGANES, from the drop zone on target difference, the fans made these fans very clear what the problem was during their 2-0 defeat against Rayo Vallecano at home 'Luis Garcia'. The name of the manager they replaced in December with Chacho Coudet.

Although Garcia was at a bad run at that time, it was obvious in the previous year that their comfortable 11th place was built on a body of strong work from the coaching staff. His looting looked premature at the time and continues to look more elongated for four months. Alaves were preferred by many to stay on Luis Garcia Plaza, but without him that comparison has changed drastically.

Of course it is one thing to see a problem and another to solve it, but certainly in those three cases, the lack of efforts or knowledge of how to do this, does not paint a beautiful relegation scene for those who make the decisions. At least one of them will probably be saved, and they have nine games to find a way to make that happen.
