La Liga has followed the threat of their President Javier Tebas, who today submit a formal complaint about Real Madrid after their letter to the President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) Rafael Louzan. In the letter, Los Blancos accuses the referee system of corrupt and manipulated against them, as well as they cost several trophies.
The letter was informed by the rest of Spanish football, which were not already satisfied with the consistent hit pieces released by Real Madrid TV against individual referees. This was the almost unanimous reaction after a meeting between La Liga, the Spanish Primera clubs and the RFEF on Thursday, which Real Madrid was not present. Sevilla President Jose Maria del Nido Carrasco stated on Sunday that they “tried to destroy Spanish football.”
La Liga has now filed a complaint with the competition committee, an independent disciplinary wing of the RFEF, who asks them to punish Real Madrid for questioning the justice of the competition, according to MD. It is not yet clear which sanctions they can be confronted with. That may not be the only action that is being taken against Los Blancos: Cadena Ser also reports that La Liga, the RFEF and the Primera clubs are also considering legal steps.
They believe that Real Madrid exceeded the line and is currently evaluating what exact violation they should pursue, which should be exactly the subject of the complaint (Real Madrid, President Florentino Perez, the board of directors or the secretary of the board who The letter signed) and in which court they should do this. It is not yet clear where they are with that process.
Marca says that Real Madrid is not concerned with the movements made against them this week. They believe that every defense they have to set up, they will base on the many complaints from other clubs about the referee in Spain in recent years, and also quote the recent comments from Diego Simeone as similar to what they describe in their letter.
