Real Madrid is currently thinking about the club World Cup, while preparing for Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-final in New Jersey. Los Blancos will end for the season after this week, but will have little time for respite.
The Club World Cup final takes place on July 13 and La Liga waves in action again on August 15, just over a month later. Real Madrid received a later planned match during the opening weekend against Osasuna, which would take place on Tuesday, August 19 in the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, Real Madrid and the Spanish Footballers Association (AFE) are not satisfied with the Tight Ommekeer and have asked to postpone the competition, with a potential date in October. State regulations that players should have continuous vacations for three weeks, and that would, Los Blancos, return to the training on the third August, if they made the final. That would only make Xabi Alonso possible for 16 days of the preseason for their first League match.
However, La Liga sees little reason to do this. Diario as say that La Liga has rejected their request. Moreover, if the Royal Spanish football federation (RFEF) Los Blancos would give a delay, La Liga will be the ones who choose the next date. A competition judge will be in charge of the final decision.
Osasuna is in accordance with the proposal, while the AFE and the clubs had reached a pact to postpone the entire first weekend until the following week, Atletico Madrid or Real Madrid should reach the last four of the club World Cup.
La Liga President Javier Tebas has spoken his opposition against the World Cup several times, which means that the point is that domestic matches should not be forced to change their calendar for the new FIFA competition. This is the last collision between Los Blancos and Tebas, who have been at odds for several years.
