Barcelona will not be able to find the red light of Marc-Andre Ter Stegen in their attempts to activate the injury rule to facilitate registrations. The German keeper is not going to sign his medical information that is shared with La Liga.
The meaning that it is that the Barcelona can prevent the new goalkeeper Joan Garcia from registering and certainly makes his presence on the opening day of La Liga much less likely. After an operation had undergone his back in last week, Barcelona was planning to activate La Liga's injury rule, allowing them to use 50-80% of Ter Stegen's salary to register a replacement for an absence of four months or more.
The Blaugrana have informed the local media that they believe that they have legal grounds to submit the medical report of Ter Stegen that La Liga must investigate to activate the injury rule without his permission. The information is theoretically protected by the Data Protection Act. Yet they have not detailed what those grounds are, and Cadena Ser reports that La Liga is not going to entertain the idea.
Unless Ter Stegen gives his permission and signs his permission, La Liga will not investigate the report and Barcelona will therefore not provide any extra salary limit space.
On their return from South Korea, Barcelona was planned to meet Ter Stegen to discuss the issue after opening a disciplinary process to discuss the issue. Diario, as now says that this is not out of the cards. The Catalan giants are furious with Ter Stegen, the feeling that he acts too badly and damages the club.
Barcelona is also investigating which sanctions they can hit by following his refusal, the first in the history of La Liga, with reports of a potential fine. However, lawyer Cristian Zarroca has also warned that Barcelona should be careful. If a court would regard a sanction as coercion or retaliation, Barcelona could be taken of legal steps of Ter Stegen for institutional bullying.
