‘Lack of respect’ saw Anis Hadj Moussa’s move to Lille break down

Lille OSC wanted to prepare for life without Edon Zhegrova (25) during the January transfer window. The Kosovo International is currently an injury and is not expected to return for a few weeks, while he is not expected to be part of the project in the long term. A target for many top clubs, including Napoli, the wing player can let Losc come at the end of the season.

Lille identified Feyenoord's Anis Hadj Moussa (22) as the priority goal to replace Zhegrova, and according to L'équipe there was even an agreement with the agent of the Algeria who would see the winger at the French club in January. Conditions with Feyenoord would not be difficult to activate with a release block with a value of approximately € 10 million.

However, as soon as the agreement was concluded with Hadj Moussa and his agent, there was a radio silence. It was impossible to get in touch with the entourage. After the 6-1 victory of Les Dogues at Feyenoord in the UEFA Champions League on January 29, Hadj Moussa again showed interest in joining Lille, but it was too late. Bruno Genesio and Olivier Létang thought that the winger had shown a “lack of respect” to the club, according to L'équipe, and so the deal was not pursued.
