Barcelona and Spain Superstar Lamine Yamal are not yet over themselves with the prospect of winning the balloon d'Or while trying to lead his national team to more success. The teenager is in Germany for the semi-final of the Nations League, while Spain adds a different title to the Euro 2024 victory that they record last year.
Luis de la Fuente will have to lead his team beyond France, and a contender for the label of the best player in the world in Ousmane Dembele, before he was possible against Germany or Portugal in the final. It is a time when some supporters of Liverpool and club legend Jamie Carragher annoyed. The former defender said on Sky Sports: “Trent was asked if he would like to win the Champions League or the Ballon d'Or and he said Ballon d'Or – Even if he thinks so, this is not the right answer for a local player in Liverpool.
“The club must come first. Liverpool has shown that supporters, he is not a player who thinks more about the club than he is. He is a brand. He is a great football player and that is why Real Madrid wants him.”
