Barcelona is still a headache about their stadium situation, with little clarity about when they return to the renovated Camp Nou. Initially they would be back at the end of November, but that was pushed back several times. They believe that they will be back before the end of the season in May, but an exact date appears to be difficult to determine.
The Blaugrana will initially return to a 60,000 seats Spotify Camp Nou while the work on the third layer continues, and that is their favorite option to organize El Clasico against Real Madrid in the second weekend of May. In the event that it is not ready on time, Barcelona negotiates with the promoters of the Rolling Stones concerts that take place in Montjuic to organize the big competition in the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Company. It would require the run of three nights to be pushed back.
According to RAC1, President Joan Laporta does not want the game to leave Catalonia if none of those options will come loose. It was suggested that Barcelona was considering bringing the game outside of Spain, to a showpiece location such as Wembley, where they could collect considerable income and still organize the game. However, Laporta is against that plan, because he likes to attend Barcelona fans.
Although Real Madrid is currently 7 points from the Catalan side, there is a chance that there is a title at stake in the last weeks of the season. In that case, Laporta would like to organize the competition in the Estadi Johan Cruyff, located on their Ciutat Deportiva training field. The stadium, goal built for Barca Atletic, Barca Femeni and youth sides, has a capacity of only 6,000 fans, but with temporary grandstands they believe that it could reach 17,000 fans. Should be noted, this would be a third-party choice behind Montjuic and Camp Nou.
