Las Palmas defeat sees Barcelona lose 53-year long streak

Barcelona are currently going through a very difficult period, and that continued on Saturday afternoon with the 2-1 defeat at home to Las Palmas. The three points were well worth the visitors, who have maintained their impressive form since the appointment of new head coach Diego Martinez.

In fact, Las Palmas wrote history with that victory in the Estadi Olimpic in Montjuic. According to Marca, it is the first time that the Gran Canaria team has defeated Barcelona on its home field since 1971. It means that Martinez and his players have finally ended a 53-year streak.

The result was also Barcelona's first home defeat of the season, and it confirmed the difficulties they have endured in recent weeks. Flick has a lot of work to do on the training field in the coming weeks, although his team will be back in action in three days with a visit to Mallorca and Son Moix.
