The former opponent of Arman Tsarukyan says he has rejected an opportunity to face him for the second time.
While Daniel Cormier disputed the recent claims of Khabib Nurmagomedov, many agree that Tsarukyan is the biggest threat to the lightweight title of Ilia Topuria.
The man who believes many as the rightful number one competition is still a fight from earning a shot on the 155 pound belt.
A recent announcement has only added this after Tsarukyan was booked on September 19 for a struggling competition to keep himself busy with the Octagon.
With an opponent who still has to be confirmed, one of the best lightweight contenders in UFC has now claimed that he has offered this matchup.

Mateusz Gamrot says he has rejected the offer to face Arman Tsarukyan in a wrestling match
Arman Tsarukyan's third struggling competition of the year has been booked for ACBJJ in Moscow on September 19.
The #8-ranging UFC Lightweight, Mateusz Gamrot, recently wrote on X that he set the chance to be his opponent for this matchup.
Gamrot is currently the last man Tsarukyan defeated in the Octagon, after he has won a controversial unanimous decision over five rounds in June 2022 after a very close fight.
Earlier this year it was reported that a rematch between them in the UFC was rejected by Tsarukyan, who criticized the 'disrespectful' offer of promotion.
Instead, Gamrot L'Udovit Klein defeated in May and returned to the winning column after a loss for Dan Hooker on UFC 305 who ended his three-field line.
In the social media post of the Polish announcements, he reflected a similar explanation that he made in the past and called on them to see each other in the UFC for the second time and Tsarukyan offered the chance of revenge.
“I got another offer for a wrestling match with Arman. People want to see us fight each other. I think we should do it first in the UFC”

Mateusz Gamrot has recently been in a similar position as Arman Tsarukyan
Although Arman Tsarukyan is much higher than Mateusz Gamrot in the lightweight pecking order, it would have been logical for him to try to avenge his last defeat.
The matchup is said to have worked for both men because they have had similar problems to get opponents who are in the vicinity of them in the ranking to enter the octhoek.

It does not seem that one of the top light weights, outside than hooker, is interested in being confronted with Tsarukyan and the same can be said for all names that are higher than Gamrot.
It seems incredibly likely that they both have to fight the rankings to stay active, even if they earn it to undertake someone among them above them.
