Lecce President Saverio Sticchi Damiani insists that the club is trying to resist the pressure of Manchester United 'to sell Patrick Dorgu in January.
Dorgu, who can operate with Left Full-Back or Right, is the subject of interest for the Red Devils this month, together with Serie A Giants Juventus.
The 20-year-old Dane has included this season in 23 games in all competitions and registered three goals and one assist of those trips to date.
He impressed during his last performance in Lecce's 4-0 defeat against Inter on Sunday, and won more Tackles (four) and more mistakes (three) than all his teammates in the game.
Dorgu has even completed a team-high 13 dribbles (level with Nikola Krstovic and Tete Morente) in the Italian flight for the side of Marco Giampaolo, while only Antonino Gallo (26) has created more opportunities than the DANE (19).
His subsequent displays have seen interest from some of the European top clubs, whereby the United of Ruben Amorim is said to show their interest in the 20-year-old.
The Red Devils are looking for improvements in the left back, where Diogo Dalot often plays in that position due to injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
United has reportedly rejected a few bids for Dorgu by Lecce, but Sticchi Damiani admitted that a deal could be closed if his appreciation was met.
“There are a series of situations in progress to complete the team,” President Sticchi Damiani told Sky Sport Italia.
“We try to resist, such as logical, because it is in our interest to keep the players who are protagonists of this group. Until now, our idea is not to sell anyone in January.”
