Alex Pereira's rise to superstar status in the UFC was downright spectacular, but Henry Cejudo believes it could be his downfall.
On UFC 313 on Saturday, Alex Pereira was again looking for an elite list with names by breaking a record by Jon Jones when he took on the main event Magomed Ankalaev.
Unfortunately for 'Patan', however, he was postponed by Ankalaev, who then dethroned him as a light heavyweight champion and brought his title to an end.
In addition to receiving criticism prior to the fight, Pereira's 'Unchaacteristic' version was criticized by Joe Rogan, because the Brazilian was surprisingly taken out in five rounds.

Henry Cejudo claims that the lifestyle of Alex Pereira was the fault of the loss of UFC 313
Since he came to the UFC in 2021, Pereira has quickly risen to superstarfom because of knockouts such as Israel Adesanya, Jiri Prochazka and Jamahal Hill, and thus became the biggest star of sport.
Prior to his title defense, the 37-year-old in Australia was to help his teammate, Sean Strickland, prepare for his UFC 312 fight and even attend Drake-Concerts.
And with that former UFC Double Champion, Henry Cejudo, believes that the lifestyle of Pereira has finally overtaken him.
“I think the lifestyle of Alex Pereira finally catches up with him a bit,” he said in a recent episode of the Pound-for-Pound Podcast.
“The journey, the Chama's, many of the skits and many things he actually does, it really doesn't do him any service, he looked a bit of pudgier.
“Magomed Ankalaev did really well, his calmness, Bro … I think Alex Pereira started to complain a bit, such as:” Oh he held me against the cage “, well, it's your job to get away there,” Cejudo continued.
Alex Pereira was also taken by ex-girlfriend after title loss
Although the majority of the UFC fan base was disappointed to see Pereira ineentate, there was at least one person who enjoyed his fall.
A video went viral on social media from the ex-girlfriend of the 37-year-old who celebrated his loss and claimed: “No more Chama.”
Pereira went to social media to respond to his ex-girlfriend, with his reaction again won about the fans.
Fortunately for Pereira, however, he will probably get an immediate rematch against Ankalaev, because after the event UFC boss, Dana White gave an answer to one word that is the chance there.
And with that Pereira promised to 'make some adjustments' in the potential rematch after his striking elite level was completely surpassed.
