Leicester is actively considering replacements for Ruud van Nistelrooy while they try to complete a decision about who will lead their bid to win an immediate return to the Premier League.
The Dutchman has supervised a disastrous series of results since the replacement of Steve Cooper last fall, which means that the Foxes will play in the championship next season.
Although they still have to make a final decision about the future of Van Nistelrooy, Mail Sport understands that goals have already been spoken by intermediaries, with Danny Rohl, Russell Martin and Lee Carsley among the names considered.
Mail Sport revealed last November that Sheffield on Wednesday Baas Rohl was a surprise name on the shortlist when Cooper was fired.
Although he was not considered enough to take the reins at the time, Leicester is enormously impressed by the work that the German did on Wednesday.
He sent the club last season to safety in his first senior role – despite the inheritance of a team that certainly looked to fall back in League One immediately when he took over.
This term, the 36-year-old has kept the owls clearly from the bottom of the table.
The one that Leicester, who is in a difficult financial position, is that Rohl has an important compensation company in his contract, in contrast to Martin.
But it is known that he is impressed by Foxes Recruitment Chief Martyn Glover when both worked in Southampton.
After such a embarrassing season, it is expected that it is an adaptation of the structure of Leicester, so that Glover can play a more central role.
Until now, Jon Rudkin, a strong ally of chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, had been an almighty director of football, but this season it has been aimed by angry supporters, who blame him for the slump of Leicester.
Asked for his future prior to Saturday's collision with Southampton, Van Nistelrooy said: 'I often said before I am proactive in conversations in February, March and April with the board and chairman.
'They know where I am and I am looking for alignment. If you move forward, you must be aligned.
“That intention is 100 percent. We all hope to find out soon.
'The faster the better, it is in the best interest of the club.
“But no news so far.”
