Leicester stars party in club next to ‘Enzo I miss you’ sign hours after loss

LEICESTER players were partying in Copenhagen just hours after losing at home to former manager Enzo Maresca's Chelsea.

Footage released in the Danish press shows stars including Harry Winks and Conor Coady dancing in the Museo nightclub, with a banner ominously close to them reading “Enzo I Miss U”.

Winks and Coady are in good spirits as party goers dance around them and hold sparklers in their hands.

Foxes boss Steve Cooper was sacked on Sunday afternoon, just hours after his players were seen dancing in the Danish capital.

According to Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet, Jannik Vestergaard and Victor Kristiansen – both Danish internationals – were at the luxury nightclub.

SunSport understands the Leicester players were at their Christmas party.

The Telegraph claims Cooper had a falling out with Winks and Vestergaard.

Danish defender Vestergaard was reportedly banned from training at some point during the manager's spell, while he also had a confrontation with Cooper.

The Foxes suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Chelsea from Maresca on Saturday afternoon thanks to goals from Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez.

Jordan Ayew grabbed a late consolation, but his goal wasn't enough to keep Cooper in charge.

Cooper was appointed as Maresca's successor in the summer, but was sacked after just 12 games and 157 days at the helm.

This is despite the fact that Leicester is one point outside the relegation zone.

Cooper, who signed a three-year contract, was told when he took the job that his only goal for the campaign was to keep it going.

The decision is believed to have been made solely by owner Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, who fears a second relegation in three seasons.

He has also been quick to respond to criticism that he pulled the trigger too late on Brendan Rodgers ahead of their relegation two years ago.

Cooper was informed of his dismissal by director of football Jon Rudkin.

Potter is reportedly in line to replace the Welshman after he was sacked by Chelsea in April 2023.

Former West Ham boss and former Manchester United assistant Ruud van Nistelrooy are also “realistic contenders”.

Leicester avoided a potential points deduction for breaching PSR rules earlier this season when they cited a technical issue in the process.
