RC Lens sporting director Diego Lopez has confirmed that Jorge Mendes has been given the mandate to sell Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur target Abdukodir Khusanov (20).
The Telegraph has already attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, but the Premier League's interest in the centre-back is growing. According to L'Équipe, Manchester City and Leicester City are now also participating in the race, while RB Leipzig is also following Khusanov. Foot Mercato understands that Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Luís Campos has already met the player's entourage, while Atletico Madrid are also in the race, according to Mohamed Toubache-Ter.
There is plenty of interest in the Uzbek international and Lens are ready to sell having failed to raise money in the summer. Speaking to L'Équipe, Les Sang et Or sporting director Lopez confirmed that agent Mendes has been given a mandate to find a destination for Khusanov.
“We decided to do it (to give the mandate). We have put all options on the table. We analyzed a lot and decided to sign a mandate together with Pierre (Dréossi, CEO of Lens). It came from an analysis of the internal market, the price of a transfer and many other factors,” Lopez said. Lens wants between 25 and 30 million euros for the defender.
