Lens -Midfender Neil El Aynaoui (24) will undergo a medical with AS Roma this Sunday to confirm his relocation of € 25 million to the Giallorossi, according to a report from L'Equipe. The former Morocco U23 International will donate a five-year-old deal with the Serie A-side. “If both clubs are satisfied and the player has a chance, everything is fine,” Lens -head coach Pierre Sage told the outlet. “I have every confidence in the players who replaced him today. We will continue with them.”
El Aynaoui is a product from Nancy Academy. He made 61 performances for the club – which played in the French third layer when El Aynaoui made the permanent switch to Lens in July 2023.
He quickly settled in life at the Bollaert-Delelis Stade. In his first season he made 31 performances for the club, including three UEFA Champions League Start. Building on a strong debut season with Les Sang et or, the campaign of 2024–25 so far turned out to be the most fertile thing about El Aynaoui. In 24 Ligue 1 – performances he scored eight goals – all of midfield.
L'Equipe adds that a very emotional El Aynaoui is saying goodbye to his Lensteammates this Saturday. The 24-year-old will go on board tonight from a plane to the Italian capital to undergo his medical tomorrow.
