Leon Edwards advised to follow career path of beloved Hall of Famer after UFC London loss

A former UFC title Challenger believes that 'Rocky' still has a lot to give if he can really do the most in the coming years.

Leon Edwards was submitted by Sean Brady last weekend in a one -sided loss on a home floor that led to questions about what the next is for the Brit.

While a former rival of his advised Edwards to take some free time, others talked about the prospect that he is going up a weight class for a new start.

Edwards has also received criticism with regard to his Vechtgeest and mentality after he was completely excluded by Brady on 22 March.

Although he agrees that something has to change, Hardy believes that the former Welterweight champion can still end his career at a peak.

Dan Hardy says that Leon Edwards should learn from Robbie Lawler who is bent in style

In a recent interview with Bloody Elbow, former UFC -Welterweight than Hardy gave his opinion about what the next should be for Leon Edwards.

He does not believe that this loss means something drastic, such as the end of British times at the top, but he emphasizes what seems to be missing in his recent trips.

“He has now made that climb. He will always have that status as a former UFC champion and that always keeps him in conversation for major fights. The reality is that Leon has remained very healthy during his career.

“He may not have taken as much wear as some of the other boys in the division maybe. I still have the feeling that he has some time, but the reality is that, I think that for all the technical skills he has, all the physical attributes, the speed, the range, the length and everything he has to discover in himself is the will to chase.”

When he looks at Edwards's career and how he can turn things around, Hardy pointed to a UFC Hall of Famer who produced one of the best retirement in the history of sport.

'The Outlaw' wants to see 'Rocky' aimed at making the best of his last years in the Octagon, so that he can fight on his shoulders with less pressure.

Although his shape was not great after losing the Welterweight title in 2016, Robbie Lawler still did some good fights during his last years before he wrapped his career neatly in a bow with a first round finish over Niko Price on UFC 290.

Hardy pointed to 'ruthless', which this year enters the modern wing of the Hall of Fame, as an example that Edwards can follow in the coming years to enjoy the time he has left.

“I feel that Leon has a little more fight in him and maybe when he goes:” Right, we still have 5-6 fights in my career, I have nothing to lose, I have been a UFC champion. Let's go Guns Blazing Out. Let's leave everyone with a this guy and Robbie Lawler would have been a great fight. ” Do you know what I mean because Robbie Lawler has gone out in my opinion.

“He really pushed it towards the end of his career and had a lot of exciting battles and maybe Leon was just a bit too expensive in the structure of the title. Maybe it just doesn't matter that much now and now he can really start to open because he is a deadly hunter, he is just to want to take people away and what they are not to do now.”

Leon Edwards must insist on the settlement of a resentment

If Leon Edwards will continue to get big fights, he needs a matchup that makes fans enthusiastic to see him competing again.

His long -term feud with Jorge Masvidal could be exactly with 'GameBred' who plan a return to the Octagon.

The former BMF champion did not fight in two years and he is without a victory in his last four trips, but this fight would still be great because of their history.

At one point it felt like a step back for Edwards, but now it could be the right game to get him back on track to a certain extent.
