Leon Edwards ignores retirement calls, reveals UFC fight he wants next after back-to-back losses

We have not seen the last of Leon Edwards in the UFC Octagon.

For the first time in his career, the former UFC champion Weltergeweight will be losing from back-to-back. Until last year, Edwards was on an undefeated line of 13-Fecht before Belal Muhammad caught up with him in their title Rematch on UFC 304.

Muhammad broke Edwards' Streak through decision and in March Edwards tapped in his career with the top candidate Sean Brady.

Ranked #4 In a tough welterweight division, top candidate Ian Machado Garry thinks that Edwards should retire after his recent setbacks.

Leon Edwards says he has mentioned Ian Machado Garry against the UFC

Machado Garry is officially on the radar of Edwards.

After fighting 20 Takedown attempts in his last two main events, Edwards is willing to return to the #6-ranged Machado Garry, which is good everywhere.

Machado Garry has been calling for Edwards for a while and seem to apparently stop after the former champion lost his #1 ranking to Brady.

“That would be a good fight,” said Edwards about Machado Garry in an interview with Joe Leigh by Sky Sports.

“Absolutely. That is the fight I mentioned against the UFC.

“I think that would be a great fight to come back there,” Edwards added.

Machado Garry is 16-1 as a pro and 9-1 in the UFC. The Irishman comes from a five -round victory over Top perspective Carlos Prates in May.

Leon Edwards trust that he will book Jack della Maddalena again

Prior to his title against Belal Muhammad on UFC 315, Jack della Maddalena in Australia was fought in the main event of UFC London in March.

Instead of fighting Edwards in an eliminator, della Maddalena was chosen as the next title -Uitdager of Muhammad. Della Maddalena won the title by decision, while Edwards started fighting a stylistic nightmare in Sean Brady, who used his grasp for the talented striker to Maul.

Although he is not a title photo for the time being, 'Rocky' believes that he can come back to a title fight.

“100%. Absolutely,” said Edwards, when he was asked if he sees a fight with Della Maddalena.

“I think Jack is what? [28]. I am 33, so I feel that in one day there is time to meet each other, “Edwards continued.

“He has a good boxing. I already have a good striking. I think it would be a good fight …”
