Leon Edwards’ remarkable fifth round statistic gives Sean Brady hope in UFC London main event

'Rocky' is known for controlling fights, but that does not mean that he can close opponents completely.

On Saturday evening, Leon Edwards looks at his frustrating loss of Belal Muhammad the last time behind him by returning to the win column.

Sean Brady has also learned important lessons from his defeat against Mohammed, who so far remains the only loss of his career.

The 32-year-old American now has a big chance of adding a former champion to his CV, but with that a huge test comes for him with the predictions for the fight largely in favor of the Brit.

With 18 UFC fights under his belt, Edwards certainly has the experience advantage, but a worrying statistics does not necessarily indicate that he has the lead in the championship rounds.

Leon Edwards has lost the fifth round every time than his two wins at Kamaru Usman

March 22 will be the eighth time that Leon Edwards is planned to fight over 5 rounds.

During his rise by the Welterweight Division, 'Rocky' became known for its well -completed skills and tactical approach that often saw him control at a steadily pace instead of overwhelming his opponents.

Despite his dominant victories in recent years over people like Colby Covington, Rafael Dos Anjos and Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone, a worrying statistic shows that Edwards tends to lose the final round.

The most famous example is his UFC 263 collision with Nate Diaz in which the Brit excelled before he was caught with a huge shot at the end of the fight that brought him to survival mode for the last moments.

Of course the exception to the rule is his back-to-back title fights with Kamaru Usman, where he took the victory out of the jaws of the defeat to beat the champion in the fifth round on UFC 278 before beating the Nigerian nightmare on UFC 286.

This could mean that even if Edwards wins against Sean Brady on Saturday evening, the American may still have a good chance of ending the fight on a high when history repeats itself, despite the fact that the #5-ranking competitor never went the full distance of 5 round.

🤯📊 Did you know that? Leon Edwards lost almost every 5th round in his UFC career, at least two jury scorecards:

Leon Edwards has to exclude Sean Brady

Leon Edwards has spoken in the construction of his return about how he felt more busy to maintain his good weight winning series after how far he got.

Although 'Rocky' will not change his style drastically and will fight reckless against Sean Brady, this statistics show that he should do better to close opponents while he is in control of the fight.

Brady has proven himself in the UFC during his time as a dangerous entry artist and although Edwards has never been submitted in his professional career, this could be a way for Brady to achieve a late victory, even if he is on the Scorecards.

The former Welterweight champion wants to make a statement in London and take advantage of the time he is in the predominance, will be crucial for that.
