UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev posted a mysterious message on social media that, according to fans, was an indirect reference to Ilia Topuria.
Islam Makhachev and Ilia Topuria may be on an inevitable collision course after Topuria had left the featherweight belt for a full -time movement to lightweight. Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes will fight for Topuria's vacancy calling on UFC 314 in Miami.
Topuria, who decided to go to lightweight after a knockout victory over Max Holloway in October, is a potential option for the next defense defense of Makhachev. But Makhachev is also about to increase in weight to the Welterweight or Middle Weight division.
In recent months, Makhachev and Topuria have risen hooks as speculation about a potential fighter pen. The hype about a potential Makhachev vs. Topuria booking went up a level when Makhachev posted a mysterious message on his social media accounts that, according to some, referred to Topuria.

In a recent message in his Instagram story, Makhachev posted the message “Someone needs to be brought” together with a selfie for fire extinguishers. MMA fans had a field day with the Makhachev message.
“Let him cook,” wrote a fan on X.
“He's coming for Topuria!” said another.
“Let it extinguish.”
“Topuria will finish him.”
“LOL bet he thought it was so cool.”
“My goat is the best trash in the UFC.”
“Champ is cooking. I love it. “
“It will be a huge fight for Islam. If he finally expands his light, we have to cement the name of Islam above Khabib as the greatest lightweight to ever do it. “
“My goat has spoken.”
“Topuria will end this clown.”
“Bro Topuria is going to kill this man and end his career.”
Despite the excitement of fans, the manager of Makhachev recently rejected Topuria and received the next title shot and instead threw a no. 1 candidate -fighting booking. But the head coach of Makhacheve loved the idea of the lightweight champion that was opposed to Topuria later this year.

UFC CEO Dana White shared a vague message in response to questions about Makhachev vs. Topuria, and show that there are several options for the lightweight comeback from Topuria. Topuria fought on lightweight once during his promotional term of office, a victory over the victory over Jai Herbert in March 2022.
Makhachev recently beat Renato Moicano on UFC 311 last month. He was supposed to be originally confronted with Arman Tsarukyan before the Armenian withdrew because of an injury, and Tsarukyan will have to win at least one fight before he got a different title shot.
Get in Topuria, who also hints on a potential booking with Charles Oliveira for his return to the lightweight division. Oliveira recently beat Michael Chandler on UFC 309 in November.
Makhachev vs. Topuria is one of the biggest fights that the UFC could do in 2025. But for now the mystery goes through the next lightweight title fight.
