Sir Jim Ratcliffe has to close the Stafkantine in Old Trafford and replace the free lunches that are currently offered by Fruit, the Guardian understands.
The largest minority shareholder of the club is also set to implement a similar step on the Base of United's Carrington Base, where only players have lunch as free. The rest of the staff there will be offered soup and bread.
The staff canteen in Old Trafford, which usually opens from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm, is expected to be closed at the end of the week. Employees get access via a pass that makes free hot meals and tea and coffee possible, charged with some soft drinks.
Instead of lunch, fruit will be available for free for those who work in the stadium. Casual MatchDay employees continue to receive a packed lunch.
Ratcliffe's decisions are his latest cost-saving movements, because the billionaire owner of Ineos of United States tries to make a slimmer operation that can re-compete at the elite level. The Guardian reported earlier that the exploration of the club of approximately 80 should be significantly reduced.
Ratcliffe has also been fired up to 200 more. During an All-Staff meeting in Old Trafford at 2.30 pm on Monday, Omar Berrada, the Chief Executive, will outline the plan for the club.
United lost £ 300 million in the past three years and will have to sell players to significantly strengthen the Ruben Amorim team in the summer.
Manchester United refused to comment.
