‘Let’s be honest’ … UFC star voices frustration over new UFC 319 co-main event he refuses to watch

Not everyone is a fan of the co-headliner for Dricus du Persis vs. Khamzat Chimaev.

The biggest fight of the year will take place next month at UFC 319 on August 16 in Chicago. In the main event, South African champion Du Plessis defends its middleweight title for the third time against one of the scariest hunters we have seen in the recent memory, the unbeaten Khamzat Chimaev.

The upcoming pay-per-view has finally completed its Co-Main Event Slot recently, with a featherweight fight between the debut Aaron Pico and #6 ranked competitor Lerone Murphy.

Former Bellator Fighter Pico was initially planned against #1 competition Movsar Evloev in UFC Abu Dhabi last weekend, but Evloev withdrew from the matchup.

Renato Moicano says that Aaron Pico and Lerone Murphy have no name value

Former UFC title Challenger Renato Moicano says he hardly knows anything about next month's co-main headliner.

UFC 319 marks the debut of Pico, a former star under the Bellator Banner who was once advertised as the biggest prospect in MMA for his failed pro debut in 2017.

As far as Murphy, the 34-year-old from England, has previously received two UFC events, both at the crowd-unless UFC Apex.

“This is not a sport. This is entertainment,” said Micano when he was talking about Murphy at the show me the Money Podcast.

'If you are very good, but nobody knows you, people don't do that [watch]…

“I don't want to look,” said Micano about the UFC 319 Co-Main event.

“Because we are honest. I don't know Aaron Pico. Call me a casual. Maybe I'm a casual. I think I looked [Pico] Once on Bellator. And you only have the highlights, on Instagram and such. I don't know his game. I don't know much about him.

“If it is Evloev, people know Evloev … Not many people know from Lerone Murphy, to be honest. If you ask an informal fan, you say, hey, do you know Lerone Murphy? They don't know.”

Fans respond to UFC 319 Co-Main event

There was a mixed reaction to Pico that was booked against Murphy in his debut.

Although many hardcore fans have wanted to see Pico in the UFC for years, others do not look like the well-completed 13-4 Bellator star or the unbeaten Murphy, who is 16-0-1 as a professional.

“That is just no one enthusiastic, respectful,” said a fan about the matchup on X.

“Solid Card, Meh Co-Main,” wrote another fan.

“In other words, they don't have a Co-Main event,” said a fan about Pico versus Murphy.
