Leverkusen keep tabs on Antony after hiring ETH but face competition from Betis

Bayer Leverkusen monitors developments with Manchester United wing player Antony that is desired back at Real Betis.

A move to Germany would see a connection with former manager Erik ten Hag for the third time.

The Dutchman brought Antony for £ 81 million in 2022, after signing him for Ajax two years earlier.

He is set up as a possible replacement for Florian Wirtz, who seems to be moving to Anfield.

Liverpool has made an range of £ 105 million for the star of Leverkusen, but they appreciate him at £ 126 million.

While Antony was disappointed in Old Trafford and only 12 goals scored in 96 performances, he blinded fans in his six-month stint in Spain, while he dragged Betis to the Conference League final.

The 25-year-old scored nine goals in 24 Starts and earned a rave review, while club legend Joaquin even joked that he would abduct Antony to keep him next season.

The outfit -based outfit is desperate to keep Antony, but will have to pronounce a considerable amount that they will probably not afford, and to defend the competition for his signature from other clubs, leaving Antony in Limbo.

It is remarkable that the record transfer costs of Betis are still the £ 21.5 million that they paid for Denilson in 1998 – a world record at that time.

Antony is currently ready to return to Old Trafford, despite the fact that he did not have the power to play with his son and would go without food for days, locked up in his room while he was in the club.

A return to Amorim's side is not outside the question and he was involved in all Portuguese squadrons of the Portuguese boss before his loan movement.

Quizzed about his future after the 4-1 defeat of Betis by Chelsea in the Conference League final in Wroclaw, Antony admitted that he was still not wiser.

“I am not what will happen in the future, only God knows,” he told CBS Sports.

'My work is playing and I do that well. I have a lot of affection for Betis, for everyone, but I have a contract with United and I don't know what will happen.

'Now I go to the national team and then on vacation, we will see what will happen in the future. I am very happy here, everyone knows that, but I have a contract. '
