Liverpool reportedly made shock enlargement to sign Alexander Isak in a club record deal.
Kop Chief Arne Slot wants to continue to strengthen the attacking options of the Premier League Champions for the coming season.
The MerseSiders have already done that somewhat with the acquisition of the much bound Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.
And Slot is reportedly looking for a serious firepower to his team with the takeover of Newcastle Hitman Isak.
According to reporter Fabrizio Romano, that claims that the Kopclub has reached the Magpies to gauge their willingness to sell Isak.
He wrote on X: “Liverpool made [a] Club-to-club approach with Newcastle to discuss record offer for Alexander Isak. “
According to Romano, if Newcastle is double their wish to keep Isak, the Reds will strive for a movement for Hugo Ekitike by Eintracht Frankfurt.
He added: “If Isak will not be available, Liverpool can enter the Ekitike race.
“Decide to Newcastle because they never wanted to sell Isak +, offer new deal.”
According to athletics, Liverpool is willing to crush their club record compensation for the second time this summer to land the Swede.
They claim that the Prem Champions would be willing to spend £ 120 million to acquire Isak's services.
The Reds are said to “communicate” to Newcastle that they are willing to splash that amount on Isak if they change their attitude to selling him.
