Barcelona -target Luis Diaz is undoubtedly the priority for director of Football Deco since he missed Nico Williams. Their chances of getting a deal, however, seem to be increasingly slimmer.
Diaz, 28, has made it clear that he is talking to other clubs this summer and is open to leaving Liverpool. However, their attitude so far is that it is not for sale, so that an approach from Barcelona is rejected in June. Diaz has made it clear that, although he is enthusiastic in moving to Barcelona, he would also welcome a switch to the German giants.
Despite the wish of Barcelona to sign Diaz and the green light of the player, it is Bayern Munich who have rejected a formal offer. According to Fabrizio Romano, Bayern has made a bid of € 67.5 million on Diaz, but Liverpool has set the offer. This follows an offer of € 52 million that was done last week for the Colombian superstar.
The word is that Liverpool and Diaz have a pact to let the player leave when an offer of € 80-85 million arrives for him. Bayern's offer is clearly a way of that figure, but both Barcelona and Bayern have leaked that they feel that they can negotiate the price. It can very well depend on the pressure for Liverpool to sell, after he has been spent large on Florian Wirtz, and links to a potential striving for Rodrygo.
In Catalonia, the last that Deco still works on a deal for Diaz, but previous reports had noticed that Barcelona hoped to close the deal for € 60-70 million, similar to what they would have paid for Nico Williams. If Liverpool has rejected this Bayern offer downright, suggests that Barcelona may have to change their attention elsewhere, unless they do a big sale.
