PSG, who had to reclaim a 1-0 at home from the first stage at home, demonstrated how they were aged under coach Luis Enrique when they eliminated a Liverpool side as favorites to win the tournament.
The early goal of Ousmane Dembele took care of the platform for the turnaround, where Liverpool was unable to break down the French visitors, while PSG was a constant threat.
The victory of PSG over two legs was thoroughly deserved, where keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma rose as their hero in the shootout, who saved from Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones before Doue inserted the winning spot kick home for joyful fans.
Liverpool made a lightning -fast start in an attempt to expand that advantage of the first leg, with Mohamed Salah twice coming close with early efforts to the head, which was in an expected mood.
With Liverpool who made the interest, there was always the chance that PSG's excellent StrikeForce could punish them on the countertop and so it proved after just 12 minutes – with a large helping hand of home defense.
The cross of Bradley Barcola was routine, but a communication breakdown between Alisson and Ibrahima Konate turned out to be expensive, the defender hit the ball out of the reach of the keeper for Dembele to almost jump on the goal line.
PSG had other chances, but could not cash in, Alisson hurried to save at the feet of Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia who fired the target when placed well.
Liverpool assembled persistent pressure after the break, but struggled to break down the resilient rearguard of PSG, although it took a fine claw saving from Donnarumma to keep Luis Diaz's header out, while replacement Jarell Quansah hit the mail and Dominik Szoboszlai had an attempt to reign.
PSG was by far the better side in extra time, with Alisson made a wonderful save from Dembele before the fate of Liverpool was sealed on penalties.
