Diogo Jota was the hero when Liverpool pulled Everton 1-0 in the Merseyside Derby on Wednesday.
The attacker scored the only goal in Anfield, where the leaders of the Premier League claimed local bragging and restored their 12-point lead at the top of the table.
Everton suffered their first competition in 10 games, but had the ball in the net in the first half.
Beto, however, was refused by the offside flag in the 20th minute, while he also struck the post after he had raced through the goal.
Jota delivered the decisive blow in the 57th minute and tied to the smart film of Luis Diaz before his neat finish insured the 100th victory of the Reds over the Toffees in all competitions.
The side of Arne Slot is again 12 points free from the second place Arsenal, who had reduced the shortage with their victory over Fulham on Tuesday, while Everton remains 15th.

Data Debrief: Diaz corresponds to Salah, since Tarkowski brings out 300
Liverpool claimed local bragging after their first 1-0 win in the Premier League in Anfield, because they defeated Brentford through that score in May 2023.
Diaz's assist for the winner was one of the six chances he created; Most by a Liverpool player against Everton in a Premier League match since Mohamed Salah in December 2017 (also six).
In the meantime, Everton did not succeed in registering a single shot on goal in a Premier League match for the first time since Moyes returned for his second spell.
On an individual comment, James Tarkowski made his 300th Premier League performance, with Tottenham's Heung-Min Son (301) the only outfield player who appeared more times since his debut in August 2016.
The defender escaped with a booking after a late tackle on Alexis Mac Allister in the first half. By doing this, he now has the joints of yellow cards without ever being sent in the Premier League (63).
