Liverpool ahead of Man Utd in Milos Kerkez transfer race as price tag emerges

Liverpool and Manchester United are both admirers of Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, who will probably be on the move this summer after he has an impression on the south coast

Liverpool are favorites to sign Milos Kerkez for Manchester United this summer, with Bournemouth ready to demand a sum of £ 45 million for their star left after the impressive second season of the Hungary star in the Premier League.

Kerkez, 21, is connected to Liverpool for months after he had drawn this period in the Swashbuckling side of Andoni Iraola. However, the fine form of the defender, who has seen him gather two goals and six assists for the cherries, has also generated interest from other top clubs, including the arch rivals of the Reds.

Fortunately for Arne Slot and Liverpool, it seems as if they remain the red -hot favorites to sign Kerkez as Kerkez this summer, as expected.

As described by The Times, Liverpool is the player to land the player as the ideal successor in the long term of Andy Robertson in a deal with a value of around £ 45 million.

It is noted that the chairman of Bournemouth, Bill Foley, does not want to sell the best players of the club, but he also indicated that he would stand in the way of none of their young stars if they want to leave.

Kerkez, who signed £ 15.5 million for Bournemouth of AZ Alkmaar for £ 15.5 million two years ago, is still under contract for three years and brings the cherries into a strong negotiating position. This season he has been the best artists of the club, while the outfit of the south coast is haunting a European place in the last weeks of the 2024-25 campaign.

Although Manchester United is also credited with an interest in the services of Kerkez by post, the player is known to the Liverpool sports director, Richard Hughes, who signed the full-back during his time as technical director of Bournemouth.

Kerkez opened the door for a summer switch to Anfield when he admitted in a recent interview with the Athletic that he saw his next step as a member of an elite club when the question was asked to him. He replied: “Yes. As a child you dream to play at the highest level, to win the trophies, to be in the best teams.

“These are the things that my agent is doing. My father is busy. It's not something they occupy me because the season is still going, so it doesn't make sense to talk about something.

“There are games about it, the FA Cup is important for us – these are big things. And then, as I say, when someone comes (for you) you never know what will happen or where you will end. In the summer we will see what happens.”
