The Champions League play -offs start on Tuesday evening, with 16 teams fighting for the last eight place in the next phase of the Knockouts.
Eight parties automatically qualified for the last 16, including Three Premier League, more than any other country. Liverpool finished at the top of the competition phase and won seven of their eight games.
Arsenal came home in third place, only behind Barcelona on a target difference. And a last day of victory on Celtic, Aston Villa saw the eighth and last automatic qualifying place securing in the last 16.
The draws for that round, the quarterfinals and the semi -final will all take place on February 21. But the teams who have booked their place in the last 16 already know which parties they can encounter.
Starting with Liverpool, the Reds enjoyed a brilliant competition phase, covered by a victory over Real Madrid in Anfield. The beating of Los Blancos was an achievement that Jurgen Klopp never achieved in his time as a boss.
After the table at the top of the side of Arne Slot, one of Paris Saint-Germain, Benfica, Monaco or Brest will be confronted. PSG and Brest face a completely French play-off, while Monaco takes on Benfica.
After losing only one match in their competition phase campaign, Arsenal came home in third place. That means that the Gunners are confronted with one of AC Milan, PSV Eindhoven, Feyenoord or Juventus in the last 16.
Juve will organize PSV in their first meeting on Tuesday, with AC Milan traveling to Feyenoord in their first stage on Wednesday. The return legs will be played next week, with the potential opposition of Arsenal and then reduced to two teams.
The last English team that has already booked their place in the last 16 is Aston Villa. They defeated Celtic 4-2 on the last day in a battle of Great Britain to take the eighth and last automatic qualifying place.
By doing this, they have set up a last-16 draw against Atalanta, Borussia Dortmund, Sporting Lisbon or Club Brugge. Sporting host Dortmund in their first stage on Tuesday, while Atalanta goes to Club Brugge on Wednesday evening.
Manchester City could turn it into the last 16 four Premier League teams. But to do, the men of Pep Guadiola Real Madrid have to beat, which she beat in the quarterfinals last season.
City underwent a terrible competition phase and ended a humble 22nd. They organize Los Blancos in the first stage of their play-off on Tuesday. If they reach it along the La Liga leaders, City will be confronted in the last 16 opposite Atletico Madrid or Bayer Leverkusen.
