Liverpool has been associated with making Newcastle star Alexander Isak their newest signing of big money this summer and the Reds were told exactly when they could sign the striker
Liverpool would like to continue their summer edition with the signing of Alexander Isak – but they have encountered a huge problem. The Reds are in the midst of a lucrative editions that Baas Arne Slot is trying to renew his team.
Jeremie Frimpong is signed from Bayer Leverkusen as a replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold. He is expected to be followed by both Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez after Liverpool has poured out deals of £ 100 million and £ 40 million with Leverkusen and Bournemouth respectively.
And the Reds may not even have been done there, with Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi told as a potential replacement for the outgoing Jarell Quansah. Newcastle Sensation Isak is a name that is linked to Liverpool in the past, and according to De Telegraaf the Swede is a player who likes to 'like to' like to 'like to' like to 'like to' like to drawing the Reds.
But it is detailed that Liverpool 'almost certainly' has no chance to sign him this summer. Newcastle would like to bank more than £ 150 million for their star, send this window – and that is a compensation that seems difficult for Liverpool, given their enormous expenses to date.
As it looks now, nothing is on hands between the Reds and Newcastle, with discussions about Isak – both formally and informally – not even being held at this stage. In the meantime, Isak seems to be satisfied with life in St James' Park.
Last season he said: “I don't know much, to be honest. From the club and from our side there are absolutely no discussions. It is just full focus on playing for me. There is not much to say, really. I have commented on my situation and my safety in Newcastle several times.
“It has been written how much I love the city and the club, how good I feel there. I don't think about the future. I just want to perform for Newcastle. Now we have won the cup, but we want to end strong and reach the Champions League matches. That is where my focus is.
“There is no reason for me to think about something else (other than Newcastle). I feel incredibly comfortable at Newcastle. The only focus I have is to play.”

In the meantime, Eddie Howe has spoken about the future of Isak and he could not completely exclude a sale – but has again confirmed his wish to keep the striker in the club. He said: “I never make those guarantees about a player and it is not to do with the future of Alex, but I would be foolish to sit here and do something like that.
“We want to keep our strongest players, I said that since I am here and I have been sitting on this chair. We have to try to keep our best players and get more good players to make us even stronger because the ambition of the club and everyone connected to the club is successful and that is the only way to get that.”
