Liverpool confirm emotional Jurgen Klopp return for the first time since leaving

Liverpool has confirmed that Jurgen Klopp will make an emotional return to the club in May.

The former boss will attend the annual gala of the LFC Foundation on 23 May as a guest speaker in his first performance as honorary ambassador since the departure.

Tickets are already for sale for the event, which is against Crystal Palace two days before the last match of the season, a collision at Anfield that he could attend.

“Everyone knows how much I love the work of the LFC Foundation and I can't wait to participate with them to celebrate that work and help to collect important funds for them to continue the incredible things they do,” Klopp said.

Matt Parish, Chief Executive of the LFC Foundation, said: “Jurgen was a fantastic advocate for our work during his time at the club and we appreciate his continuous support and hope that as many people as possible can become with us.”

The German now works as Red Bull's worldwide football head.

According to athletics, he was also invited two days later for the Final Premier League match of Reds Final Premier League of the season against Crystal Palace.

Klopp has not been to Anfield since his emotional farewell after a glorious eight-half years of rule that was in charge of the club last May.

The 57-year-old took a break of football before he started his new role at Red Bull in January.

It is said that he is present in Merseyside at the end of the current campaign when the Reds is expected to win a record-similar 20th top-flight Kroon.

Klopp supported the charity work of the LFC Foundation during his time in Anfield and became an honorary ambassador after his departure last summer.

Liverpool only needs 11 more points from their last seven games to achieve the Premier League title. The men of Arne Slot suffered a 3-2 defeat on Sunday by Fulham, but they still enjoy a huge lead of 11 points about the second place Arsenal.

Proponents get the chance to schedule the success of the potential 2025 champions during an open-top bus parade, planned for May 26.

The 2020 winners of Klopp were denied the privilege because of the global pandemic five years ago.

Slot and Klopp reportedly exchanged messages in the course of this season, whereby the Dutchman makes it clear that there is an open invitation for his predecessor to either attend games at Anfield or visit the club's training basis.
