Real Madrid remain optimistic about a deal for Trent Alexander-Arnold coming this summer. However, current Liverpool have upped the ante with their latest offer and are willing to pay the 26-year-old €93 million over five seasons.
That's according to The Mirror in England, referenced by Marca, who say Liverpool are desperate to keep Alexander-Arnold but feel there is nothing more they can do to convince him with this offer. Yet Alexander-Arnold would earn the same at Real Madrid: his wages at Liverpool would be around €18.6 million per season, while Los Blancos are willing to give him €18.72 million per year.
Real Madrid had approached Liverpool about a move in the January transfer window, but those talks were rejected outright by the Merseyside club as they tried to convince Alexander-Arnold to stay at the club. It remains to be seen whether they will change that attitude if they give up hope of keeping Alexander-Arnold after the summer, with Real Madrid keen to strengthen the right-back position due to Dani Carvajal's season-ending injury.
